WATER DAMAGE & FLOODS RESTORATION
Did you know that the most common claim that insurance companies pay on homeowner’s policies are related to water-damaged homes?
This kind of damage can be extensive in walls, ceilings, and floors along with everything that is stored within the flooded area.
You will want to make sure that everywhere the water has touched has been removed or thoroughly dried. This includes wet drywall. Not doing so can cause mold to grow. This can lead to costly repairs and, more importantly, potential health risks and health problems.
There are several potential causes of water damage. The top three causes of flooding that we typically see are leaking waterlines for the refrigerator, hose bibs that have split from being frozen and burst washing machine hoses. Therefore, we recommend braided steal washing machine hoses, braided steel or PEX waterline to the refrigerator, not vinyl or other types of tubing, and removing your hoses from outside faucets when outside temperatures are close to freezing.
Tubs, toilets, and showers can also cause leaks through the ceilings below. Toilet or tub water can leak from the floor through the ceiling. This can happen because of a bad seal or a leaking fixture. Faucets and emergency shut off valves can leak. Sewer backups, clogged toilets, a leaking roof, cracks in your home’s foundation, and broken or burst pipes, broken hose bibs, leaking water heaters or water softeners can all cause flooding and lead to water damage.
No matter the cause of the water damage, we can repair it or refer you to a trusted company, for roofing or foundation issues.
